The Lone Acting Nominees

Episode 37 - Joy (with Indrė Vėbraitė)

Episode Summary

On this week's episode, my guest and I discussed the underwhelming not-quite-a-biopic JOY, which earned Jennifer Lawrence her fourth nomination in six years for her performance as a frustrated, put-upon woman who invents a self-wringing mop and struggles with marketing it properly and dealing with her overbearing family. Listen in as we also talk about Isabella Rossellini's eccentric performance, Bradley Cooper's nothing performance, and include an extended anecdote about David O. Russell from a standup comedian.
